UPDATED Yarn Bobbins, Yarn Winder, Yarn Holder, Rainbow set of Yarn Bobbins, Small Large or XL

from $4.00

Your favorite bobbins have been updated and made even better! I’ve redesigned them to have a more effective notch to keep the yarn from unwinding when you don’t want it to, they hold a larger amount of yarn, and they can now be clipped to a lanyard to be used as a yarn minder.

With the update, the notch has been changed to a spiral to better hold the yarn when you are not using it, and you can see in the last photo that the ball of yarn is hanging from the working end, and the spiral notch is keeping it from unraveling. The notch has also been moved to the very end of the petal so that it does not limit the amount of yarn you can wind on. The small size of the old model could hold about 10g of yarn before it started to approach the notch, which limited the amount of yarn you could load on it. In the photos, you can see a small bobbin loaded with 24g of yarn and there is still room to load more. With the new models, each size holds a significantly larger amount of yarn!

COLORS:

Rainbow Sets: 6 Bobbins in the colors of the rainbow, in the size you select.
Available Sizes: 6 Small, 6 Large, or 6 XL

Multi-color sets: each set has an assortment of colors, which vary based on the colors we have in stock.
Available Sizes: 4 Small, 4 Large, 4 XL, or Variety Pack (2 Small, 2 Large, 2 XL)

The larger the bobbin, the more yarn they hold. The small size holds over 25g of yarn. Although I have not pushed it to the limits, I would estimate that it holds about 35 - 40g before you start reaching the edge of the bobbin. The large size can easily hold a full 100g skein of yarn. The XL bobbin has not yet been tested, but it is considerably larger than the Large size and should hold quite a bit.

These bobbins are great for colorwork, intarsia knitting, smaller weaving looms, or for tidying up your mini skeins and leftover yarn. They're quicker and easier to use for hand-winding yarn than a nostepinne and keep your yarn neater as well. They make an easy and affordable alternative if you do not have a cake winder and yarn swift at home.

Winding Instructions:
Thread the end of your yarn through the center hole, then wrap the yarn between the petals of the yarn bobbin, going directly across the middle. After wrapping it around several times, rotate the bobbin 90 degrees and wrap between the other petals, so that you're wrapping perpendicular to the first set of wraps. Continue in this manner, rotating and wrapping until you're done.

These yarn bobbins were fully designed and engineered by me. They are 3D printed with PLA filament, which is an environmentally friendly plastic.
